Despite people arguing this issue has been heavily politicised which I agree to certain extent, still, the perhimpunan hijau is a way of us rakyat trying to wake our government up, protecting our home, our land. Our objective is fairly simple and straight forward:
It is none of my business whether the safety procedures have been complied with or not because at the end of the day, no one can guarantee the storage for the chemical is safe and that no leakage will ever occur.
It is also not the point of a temporary operating licence because once the factory starts to run, there is no way turning back.
I also do not care what those scientific experts say in this issue, because this is my fucking home town and screw you! just build in your own country can or not? you got bigger land that means more space, a whole deserted area which you can store as many waste as you want, as harmful as it can be, don't target us, please!
I understand it must be convincing to the government before they allow this project but considering the level of convincing our government portrait to us, it is a miserable failure one. plain stupidity I supposed. because simple question we had in mind was: why can't they build in their own country? why even ship all the way up to the Peninsula?
I do not want to see mutant babies, distorted plant, two head fish, three eyes fish because it only appears in movie, NOT REAL LIFE! uranium and thorium is very scary!!!
I do not wish to see my beloved country suffer from potential radioactive leakage and effects. I love everyone in my country. And it is so close to Kuantan, my mum's home town, my childhood was spent there as well, don't ruin it!
300+jobs to risk it? fuck off.
Let's not wait till something disastrous happen and only we regret from that.
Sincerely,
rakyat.
